EyeCandy on YouTube

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Not ones for sitting on our hands lamenting, infurious has been furiously working on it’s next big project. And here it is: EyeCandy - comics for kids. For 99cents you get a goofy little comic (featuring all the same coolness as the murderdrome comic, ie you can skim through to the inks and to the pencils - which are super simplified to help kids copy the artwork) and we’ve added some funky extras - every panel can, with the press of a button, become a colouring in page. Up will pop a little palette and off you go colouring. And, is if that wasn’t fun enough, every issue will feature a very cool little ‘toy’ - issue 1 has a googley eyed horse. Shake him and listen for the whiney… (While his eyes roll around his head…)

Watch it on youtube, and, in the next week or so, you’ll be able to download it for your iPhone/iPod touch for just 99cents.

TechRadar UK: ‘Digital comic’ iPhone app banned

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

TechRadar UK have a short interview with PJ where they examine the ratings system on the Apple iTunes App Store that we’re keen on having implemented for content other than games.

TR: Were you shocked that it was banned?

PJH: After we’d seen the other apps that were banned it wasn’t a massive surprise, no. Unfortunately, we were too far ahead in development to stop and start with something new.

TR: Do you think Apple were right to take this decision, given that the comic is, obviously, centred round comic-book violence?

PJH: I think Apple is right to do everything in it’s power to make the iPhone / iPod touch a mass market item, I think they’re wrong in allowing games in the App store to have ratings and not books or comics.
